Assignment 01/03
This assignment evaluates various aspects of architectural design projects through comprehensive criteria. Continuity & Clarity assesses the consistency of design thinking with initial biotypes and subsequent logical investigations, emphasizing a thorough approach to materiality, structure, and form. Computational Thinking evaluates the creative application of computational tools and methods, highlighting fluency with generative design methods and advanced digital workflows. Contextual Coherency examines engagement with context and proposed disruptions, demonstrating a high understanding of architectural responses. Architectural Coherency focuses on the relationship between form and function in response to site, clients, and socio-cultural factors. Lastly, Communication & Representation assesses the quality and cohesion of design representation and communication. In this project, Putakawai leaves were used as the natural form, experimenting with bleaching to desaturate their color and then using dye to bring some extent of natural life back into the leaves. This evaluation framework ensures projects are assessed holistically, covering both technical and conceptual dimensions.
